The stadium seats 8,800 people on aluminum bleachers and features a turf field built in 2015, video scoreboard, and synthetic surface track.

The stadium is the home for contests at the varsity, junior varsity and freshmen levels in football, boys’ soccer and girls’ soccer. Middle school football and soccer games are also held there. During the spring, several track and field meets are held at the high school and middle school level.

Leonardo “Leo” Aguilar Jr. was the starting fullback for the 1970 Los Fresnos Falcons. He passed away from a football related injury at the age of 17. In 1988, the Los Fresnos CISD Board of Trustees voted to rename Falcon Field to Leo Aguilar Memorial Stadium.

Since 1971, in honor of Leo's leadership and commitment to his community, the Leo Aguilar Memorial Scholarship Fund has been awarding scholarships to students of Los Fresnos High School to help further their education. For more information, visit http://www.leoaguilarfoundation.org
