Cheer

Spirit is a UIL sanctioned co-ed extracurricular activity that focuses on the traditional game day role cheerleaders have on the sidelines and in schools supporting athletic teams. Spirit groups create a sense of school unity through spirited student-led performances.

Los Fresnos High School cheer tryouts are open to students in all grade levels and are held in the spring for the upcoming school year. Cheer is athletic in nature and has many safety requirements utilized in UIL athletic programs.

At the UIL Spirit State Championships typically held each spring, schools will compete in three categories: crowd leading, fight song, and band dance.

UIL Spirit follows rules and guidelines set forth by the National Federation of State High School Associations.
